An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manager to join our Model Management and Development team as part of our Balance Sheet Management team. Your role will be to develop, manage and test the financial models used across the Society ensuring that they are fit for purpose for the Society’s requirements and aligned with regulatory expectations.

What you’ll do...

Responsibility for the ownership and delivery management for elements of the model suite employed across the Society, including Balance Sheet Management Models, Product Pricing Models and Market and Liquidity Risk Management models.

You will bring with your strong stakeholder management skills to interact with business areas including prudential risk, and key stakeholders across the business which will range from model users through to chief level, communicating effectively to ensure they have the correct level of knowledge and understanding of the models in place. 

You will own the design, development, implementation and on-going support of the models within your remit, while ensuring that full documentation is in place to support those models. You will be accountable for the governance of the models and ensuring they adhere to regulatory and industry best practice.

The Balance Sheet Management team are currently working from home so you will start your journey with us being home based with some potential travel to our Leeds site with a view to move forward in the future of a balance of home and office working. 

The knowledge & skills you’ll have

•    Preferably evidence of building financial models in one of the key areas including; liquidity risk, market risk, product pricing or financial forecasting.
•    SQL, SAS or VBA experience.
•    Strong analytical skills. 
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
•    Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to converse effectively with multiple audiences and adapt your communication to suit your audience.
•    Constantly curiosity and continuous improvement mind set, bringing insights and research looking for ways we can improve for our customers.  
•    Ability to prioritise your work effectively and work to tight timescales. 

Please note, this role has no line manager responsibility.
