An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join our Cost and Investment team. You will use your excellent business partnering skills to build strong working relationships with Chiefs/Directors in order to provide insightful financial analysis of costs, support business case modelling, contribute to key decision making and proactively drive improved business performance.

You will be the eyes and ears of the finance division working side by side with your business areas to deliver great results. You will use your effective business partnering skills to quickly forge and maintain strong and credible relationships with Chief Officers and Directors across the business.

What You'll Do

Understanding your business areas (commercial drivers & strategy) in order to provide insightful analysis and advice whilst also being able to flag risks and agree actions to mitigate them.

Using your commercial thinking to improve decision making, challenge the business on process, approach and submissions to ensure better outcomes for the Group and our Customers. Anticipating challenges from the business. Translating the C&I strategy of reducing reporting/handle turning and increasing insight to allow the business to better understand why changes/requests are made.

Applying your professional judgement balancing timely updates to stakeholders with longer term analysis of emerging issues.

Proactively driving improvement, improving forecasting and identifying opportunities to streamline and automate process


Acting as finance SME enabling the business to track progress towards targets and supporting  the business to understand their commitments and progress towards achieving strategic cost targets



How You’ll Do It

  • Accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent (Min of 3 years PQE).

  • Finance business partnering experience which may have been gained from Practice, Consultancy, Bank or Building Society or other large complex organisations.

  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to form strong working relationships quickly.

  • Ability to identify and address key risks/implications.

  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and make time sensitive commercial decisions.

  • Analytical thinker able to identify key issues and gather data to drive improvement.

  • Rigorous, methodical and well organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver to deadline.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse effectively with key stakeholders.
