The YBS Insight Team is looking for its next Insight Executive to help us out on a temporary basis. You’ll ensure that consumer, market and competitor views are brought together using primary and secondary or desk research techniques which combined with your curiosity and experience will help create positive improvements for our customers and our ways of working. You’ll join a likeminded team, currently working from home, based in our Commercial Division.
About Our Team
The Insight Team has a purpose of bringing the outside in, we cast our net wide on what’s going on in financial services markets, consumers’ lives and competitors in the personal finance arena to determine how it potentially influences and impacts YBS’s purpose going forward as a provider of Savings & Mortgages products providing Real Help with Real Lives.
Advances in technology and changing consumer expectations pose challenges but also opportunities to make the service we provide existing customers even better and attract a new generation of customers, and that excites us on a day to day basis. Our team recently moved into the Commercial Division and we are seeing increasing demand for our services from our new team mates and we are keen to help ensure our Digital Transformation is grounded in what our customers, now and in the future, expect from a financial services provider.
What You'll Do
Supporting the team in a wide variety of projects, in order to generate insight and inform business action and strategy, through building customer understanding and making recommendations.
Scanning the market, spotting trends, applying them to YBS and its strategic agenda to help inform the business with influential insight reports, highlighting improvements and recommending changes to existing practices across all products and sales processes.
Engaging with stakeholders across the business ensuring clear insight and recommendations are communicated effectively to enhance the customer experience.
Developing understanding of the methodologies used to bring external viewpoints into the business, including primary research techniques (quantitative and qualitative), analysis of Financial Services Sector data and their impact on mortgage and savings market performance, secondary or desk research and comparative analysis of consumers, markets and competitors to facilitate debate and decision making up to Board level.
How You’ll Do It
An appetite to gain or grow experience in at least one of the following: Consumer Trends, Company Accounts, Market Trends, Customer Research & Research Methodology.
Curiosity to understand more about consumers and the markets YBS operates in.
A ‘Digital First’ mind-set to support our future business and innovation agenda, with a desire to break out of your comfort zone and challenge the status quo
Burgeoning analytical skills, deep understanding of customers and desire to find the “so what?” in everything you do.

This will be a temporary assignment, for six months, to support the team whilst we transition into a new division and understand new sources of demand and are better able to support the Digital Transformation. We are all currently working from home, in a high trust and supported environment. Communication and collaboration is all done virtually and that brings its own challenges that we are working through as a team. And we are always looking for new ideas to improve those ways of working.
