We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join Yorkshire Building Societies Customer and Commercial Risk team on a 3 month day rate contract. 

The Team….

The Customer and Commercial Risk team is an integral part of YBS’s Customer and Commercial Divisions. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively with our colleagues in teams like Trading, New Product Development, Direct and Intermediary Distribution and Collections and Recoveries to ensure we’re identifying, mitigating and managing conduct, credit and operational risks. This allows us to provide a fantastic experience and sustainable growth and performance for our customers and members.

The team is responsible for a number of areas including managing credit risk strategy and lending policy, affordability and portfolio risk management.   Above all else, the team is there to help and support the rest of the Customer and Commercial Divisions deliver their objectives safely and responsibly.

The Role…

As a Credit Risk Analyst you’ll be a key member of our team, leveraging your Credit Risk management expertise to help YBS deliver its objectives.  We're looking for an experienced credit risk professional who wants to positively impact customers, colleagues and the success of the business by leading projects independently, driving change forward and influencing senior leaders.

What You’ll Do…

Supporting the Group’s growth aspirations whilst ensuring lending is responsible. Entering new market segments and defining lending criteria to meet changing customer needs requires a clear understanding of the associated credit risks. You will lead work across the business, owning and driving change to support business growth and customer experience whilst ensuring credit risks are managed.

Ensure high quality, insightful credit risk analytics is produced. You will lead and support the production of key credit risk analytics that provides real insight and can, therefore, be used to inform strategic decision-making.

How You’ll Do It…

•    Prior experience within Financial Services (or similar) with demonstrable experience of operating within the Credit Risk arena.
•    Experience of Buy to Let (essential) and Commercial lending (desirable) acquisition strategy.
•    Expert knowledge of at least one of the following Credit Risk areas;
-    Portfolio analytics
-    Affordability
-    Risk Management of Buy to Let or Commercial Mortgage lending
•    Expert skills in data manipulation, SAS (or similar statistical packages), SQL and Microsoft Excel.
•    Proven ability to independently lead programmes of complex analytical work.
•    Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
•    Excellent communication skills.
