We are looking for an Associate within our Mortgage, Collections and Recoveries department to support customers who are in financial difficulty. At YBSG we do this through the assessment of circumstances and a review of their financial income and expenditure to help us provide an appropriate solution. You would work across a range of mortgage customers and products to provide real help for real lives.
What you'll be doing
You will be utilising your experience and knowledge to recognise cases which require bespoke solutions. Establishing a timely and appropriate contact to engage customers who are facing financial or personal difficulty which impacts their ability to repay their mortgage or shortfall debt. Understanding customer circumstances through fact finding and questioning will allow you to gain an insight into financial assessment to establish the affordability and appropriate solution. You will be able to identify those customers where a longer term solution is not suitable and discuss all potential exit strategies. It is important you will be able to take ownership of complaints that may be raised and try to resolve these at first point of contact where possible.
The Knowledge & Skills you’ll have:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have;
Experience of Mortgage Arrears Management from pre-arrears to debt recovery
Experience of working in Financial Services
Awareness of how financial services organisations operate
Risk assessment capability
Ability to work within agreed parameters and make operational decisions
Excellent communication, engagement and listening skills
High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to recognise the powerful and distressing emotions in customers and be able to handle these situations calmly.
Previous litigation experience is desirable but not essential for this position
