About the role
As Credit Risk Manager, you’ll get the opportunity to take your SME knowledge and apply it to a range of exciting projects. You’ll be key to enabling the Society’s commercial lending growth and ensuring we are lending responsibly.
That could be leading projects to review our proposition as well as owning and updating the commercial lending policy ensuring that our lending criteria remains appropriate to manage and mitigate risk in a proportional way whilst also ensuring we are flexible to meet changing customer needs.
You’ll also play a key role in the portfolio management of the commercial lending book, by monitoring the asset quality of the lending book and leading on policy, sector and portfolio review.
The development of others is important in this role, so you’ll be committed to supporting, mentoring and sharing your expert knowledge. (Note: this role does not have formal line management responsibility)
You’ll need expert knowledge of credit risk management within commercial mortgage lending. This will be coupled with an in-depth understanding of financial services and the regulatory and economic landscape.
Away from the specific technical knowledge, you’ll need a proven ability to independently lead programmes of complex analytical work, coupled with excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills.
All of this will be underpinned by your passion and energy and commitment to developing and coaching colleagues.
