Emily's Story

“Noble’s Hospital is smaller than the hospitals I worked in back in England, which made settling in much easier and far less overwhelming. Life on the Island is also much calmer than what I was used to, and I’ve found a brilliant work-life balance. I work Monday to Friday and spend my evenings and weekends working out, exploring new bars and restaurants, visiting family and friends, popping into town or heading out for walks and hikes. Emily (Band 6 Occupational Therapist)

Emily’s experience is shared by many Occupational Therapists who join us from larger healthcare systems. The smaller scale of Noble’s Hospital means a more personal, supportive working environment, one where new team members can quickly feel at home and confident in their role.

Life on the Isle of Man offers a pace that supports both professional growth and personal well-being. With a manageable Monday to Friday schedule and a strong focus on work-life balance, our team have the time and energy to enjoy everything our Island has to offer.

A career that lets you thrive

The Isle of Man is a self-governing jurisdiction with its own Government and national health service, separate from the UK. With a population of around 85,000 our Occupational Therapists benefit from manageable caseloads, supportive teams and the space to deliver truly person-centred care.

Our Band 6 roles involve managing specialised caseloads, offering diverse clinical experiences and excellent opportunities to further expand your skills and professional expertise. With fewer systemic pressures, you’ll have the time and head space to deliver high-quality care, grow professionally and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Rotational: Our rotational roles give you the opportunity to broaden your clinical experience by working across a variety of settings. You will manage specialised caseloads in areas such as orthopaedic inpatients and outpatients, medical wards and self-referral services. This variety allows you to develop into a well-rounded clinician while expanding your professional skills.

Community: In our community roles, you will deliver high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions in patients’ own homes. This hands-on approach allows you to support individuals with a wide range of conditions, including medical, orthopaedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal needs. Working in the community offers the chance to build strong relationships with patients and provide personalised care that makes a real difference to their independence and quality of life.

What you need

BSc or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy

Registration with the HCPC

A full UK driving licence

Sufficient post registration experience
