Want to know more about the role of an On-Call Firefighter?

To apply to be an on-call firefighter, you must be:
• Aged 17 ½ years or over,

• Calm in a crisis,

• A good team player,

• Motivated,

• Able to reach the fire station within 5 minutes of being called from a personal pager when on-call,

• Gain permission from your primary employer to be an on-call firefighter,

• Provide on-call availability for an agreed number of hours per week,

• Attend a minimum 2 ½ hours training session at the station one evening a week.

We a run Have a Go sessions regularly and once you have registered your interest you will be emailed a link to view the available sessions. Please note that at the moment, applications are only open for on-call firefighters, and these sessions are specifically aimed at individuals who want to apply for on-call, not wholetime firefighter roles.
