We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join our Accommodation Team based in Preston. Some additional travel will be required in this role.


This role will conceive, justify and deliver Accommodation projects within the Electricity North West Non Operational property portfolio safely and to a high standard.

As the Construction Project Manager you will liaise with Design Teams, Architects and Surveyors, and manage professional appointments in order to deliver ENWL accommodation projects.

You will advise on appropriate budget for accommodation projects and monitor and report on the contractors progress against the contract programme. You will also lead small & medium capital projects or programmes of work, ensuring appropriate use of resources to deliver the required scope of work within set deadlines.

You will identify and mitigate project risks to ensure the project is not adversely impacted, and ensure the delivery of projects to compliant standards. As part of the role you will also undertake site inspections to ensure safety compliance and that project milestones are achieved.


  • Relevant degree in construction / surveying (minimum 2:2) (Essential);
  • Chartered status or working towards this (Desirable);
  • Experience managing a number of capital schemes simultaneously
  • Experience delivering projects on agreed budgets and timescales 
  • Experience managing stakeholder engagement throughout a project
  • Experience managing external contractors and framework contractors to deliver projects
  • Demonstrates a concern for excellence in all project work
  • Ability to self manage and work independently
  • Be results focused and show initiative
