We are currently recruiting an Administration Assistant to play a fundamental role in ensuring Electricity North West’s commitment to minimise the financial and reputational risks associated with street works non-compliance and to support the business objective of achieving street works excellence.

Appointment to this role will be on a fixed term contract until July 2022.

Our role

As an Administration Assistant working within the Street Works team, your primary focus is to ensure a consistent and efficient end to end 3rd party reinstatement process across Operations to reduce accruals and ensure prompt contractor payments increasing validation and auditing to drive down 3rd party reinstatement costs.

You will receive reinstatement measures from DLO / Out of Hours and issue reinstatement instructions to 3rd party contractors for private and public reinstatement.

As the Administration Assistant, you will proactively manage reinstatement requests and make decisions in line with company KPIs, whilst communicating close out of traffic management to the Resource Management Unit’s.

You will also assist the wider team in damage reporting and management and identifying jobs that require auditing.

You will be the main point of contact for engineers requesting permits for urgent works and will be responsible for raising Street Works notices, permits and permit extensions so great communication and organisational skills are key. 

Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working within a busy Street Works department; 
  • Extensive knowledge of the NRSWA and SROH and the key supporting codes of practice - primarily the Inspections code of practice;
  • Experience in the validation and resolution of various forms of street works charges;
  • Ability to support the development of productive relationships with key external stakeholders, i.e. Highway Authorities and Contractor managers and teams;
  • A working knowledge of Estimate (desirable);
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office in particular Excel;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Interpersonal and professional skills to ensure conflict is avoided which would be detrimental to Electricity North West’s street works objectives;
  • Knowledge of Electricity North West’s various business processes (desirable).
