About the role
Are you looking to expand your skills in Emergency Medicine within a supportive and dynamic team?
As a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine, some of your clinical duties will include taking part in the initial management and medical care of all types of patients attending the Emergency Department (ED), advising and supporting junior doctors and nurses as well as non-medical staff, and working with senior nurses to ensure the effective operation of the Department.
You will have the opportunity to gain experience of major trauma associated with the Island’s widespread motorsport culture; particularly during the TT fortnight and the Manx Grand Prix, where several can be admitted each day requiring extensive stabilisation and intervention.
Due to the wide variety of presentations to the department given our unique location, you will also have ample time to develop core techniques within Emergency Medicine and the opportunity to undertake audit and other clinical governance projects.
