Job Advert
This post is a limited term appointment for 3 years (with the possibility of extension).
About the role
Are you a GP looking for a challenging and rewarding role that allows for a great work-life balance in a beautiful island location? Are you interested in seeing what being a GP in a small, island-based health economy is like, before committing to a long-term career here? Would you like to be part of an organisation committed to high quality patient care and service improvement? Then join us as a Salaried Portfolio General Practitioner (GP) in Manx Care on the Isle of Man!
The role as a Salaried Portfolio GP will provide you with lots of variety and flexibility, allowing you to find your niche and balance of work. The role will predominately include General Practice cover, for instances where additional GP’s are required due to sickness or annual leave, or partners being seconded to other leadership commitments; this is a great way to get a feel for how different practices work on the Island. You will also occasionally be part of the GP Clinic rota in our small island prison health centre.
The limited term nature of the role will allow you to move into other roles, should you wish, whilst also embracing those who wish to retain the varied role offered within this cohort. GPs with special interests will be encouraged to use those skills, along with leadership development.
You will be joining Manx Care at a time of exciting new development of integrated healthcare delivery, particularly with regards to the introduction of Locality Hub Working/Primary Care at Scale, where you would be assisting in shaping new ways of working. You will be part of a small, dedicated team benefitting from one-to-one support which will enable you to build effective relationships. You will be supported by the Primary Care Services team for administrative tasks and your calendar bookings, as well as the team being your first point of contact for any queries.
If this sounds like you, and you want to work somewhere that invests in you and your career where you can make a real difference to the lives of the Island's residents and the service we provide to them, then we want to hear from you!
