The Authority is also responsible for supervision of anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance for those involved in the financial sector as well as a range of other Designated Businesses, and oversight of compliance with the Beneficial Ownership Act 2017.
MANAGER (POLICY AND LEGISLATION SPECIALIST) – AML/CFT SUPERVISION DIVISION
The Division is responsible for AML/CFT/CFP policy, applying a risk-based approach and supervisory tools. This includes inspections to test and encourage firms’ levels of protection against money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing, and compliance with beneficial ownership obligations. It is vital for the Island and its economy that key businesses understand the risks they may face and have robust defences in place to prevent use or abuse by money launderers or worse. It is also vital that the Island can show effective AML/CFT/CFP oversight of key businesses and sectors by regulators.
The Authority is also active with other Government agencies in wider developments across the IOM as we head towards an inspection of the Island’s AML/CFT/CFP effectiveness by MONEYVAL. The role holder will assist in leading the Authority’s response to the requirements of MONEYVAL and other International Standards and the Island’s Financial Crime Strategy, including the development of policy and guidance.
Relevant industry experience in an operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role is essential. The postholder will have experience in the development of policy and working within multi-agency groups and knowledge of the MONEYVAL/FATF Standards and Evaluation process including experience of on-site inspections. The ability to work under pressure and manage a workload of varied complexity and competing priorities along with strong people management skills is also essential. The candidates will hold, or be working towards, a professional qualification relevant to the financial services industry.
