If you can offer a second subject, even better - but it’s not essential. Whether you're experienced or an Early Career Teacher, you'll be welcomed into a school that values collaboration and invests in its people, with dedicated classrooms and resources that enable effective planning and high-quality teaching. With principles of Opportunity, Care, and Quality shaping everything we do, you’ll find an inspiring and collaborative workplace where your contribution truly matters. If you are passionate about teaching and eager to support our mission, we would love to hear from you!

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pensions arrangements: the Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) arrangement.

If you are returning to the Island and have participated in the Department’s Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department upon completion of your second year working as a teacher at one of the Island’s schools. The repayment is subject to a maximum of £7,500 for a three year degree course or £10,000 for a four year degree course, and the requirements detailed in the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.

If you are an Early Career Teacher, you will receive payments of £2,000 at the beginning of your first and second school years in teaching, following the completion of the ECT induction period (2 years).

A subject shortage allowance of up to £500 a month for a maximum of 8 months if you are offered a permanent position in a Maths, English or Science teaching position (without TLR).
