About the role

Are you a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered, or in the process of being registered, with the General Pharmaceutical Council? Are you looking for a role that prioritises patient care as well as supporting your professional development? We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team!

Working under the Chief Technician, you will undertake a rotational role in Procurement and Homecare, Medicines Management, Dispensary services and Aseptic Services. These posts provide an opportunity to progress from a Band 4 Technician to a Band 5 Technician, after completing a training and competency framework over a minimum period of 1 year. There is also an opportunity to join directly onto the Band 5 pay scale for those applicants with the relevant qualifications, experience and competencies.

After relevant training or depending on experience, you will work at ward/pharmacy level to deliver a patient focused, high quality service including:

  • Medicine history, POD assessment and reconciliation, providing medicines advice to patients, as well as other healthcare professionals.
  • Complete the preparation of discharge, inpatient and outpatient prescriptions as well as other dispensary based work under the direction of the Lead Dispensary Technician.
  • Work in the Aseptics unit under the direction of the Aseptic Services Manager.
  • Process Homecare prescriptions, generate orders and support stock management under the direction of the Lead Technician for Procurement and Homecare.
  • Acting as an Accuracy Checking Technician and be responsible for the final check of prescriptions that have been professionally checked by a pharmacist.

If you’d enjoy a varied role in a fast-paced, challenging environment where you can really put your knowledge and skills to the test, we would love to hear from you!
