Job Advert
This role is a limited term appointment for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 9 months.
About the role
Are you looking for a unique clinical challenge that develops specialist transfer skills?
As Transfer Fellow, you will have the unique opportunity to combine anaesthetic work at Noble’s Hospital with hands‑on transfer medicine for the Isle of Man Air Ambulance Service. Working with a pressurised fixed‑wing aircraft, you’ll manage adults and children who require HDU or ICU‑level care during flight, including trauma, cardiac and time‑critical cases.
You’ll begin with a structured induction flying with a range of patients, before progressing to sole‑doctor transfers working alongside an experienced transfer practitioner. Transfer activity varies week to week and increases significantly during the Island’s motorsport season, offering exposure to high‑energy trauma and complex clinical decision‑making. When transfer activity is quieter, more time is spent in theatre.
You’ll be fully supported by the Anaesthetics team, with consultant input available for preparation and case discussion. The role also provides scope to contribute to service development and quality improvement within a small, collaborative clinical team, and attracts an additional PA and 8% on-call allowance.
If you are within two years of obtaining, or has recently been awarded, your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthesia, and are ready to develop advanced transfer skills in a focused and supportive environment, apply now!
