This role is term time, which means that the gross annual salary advertised will be reduced proportionately based on the number of weeks worked during the academic year. Term time employees are contracted to work 38 weeks per year.
Please note that the full time equivalent for this position is 37 hours, so roles advertised with contracted hours less than 37 will be classed as part time. The gross annual salary advertised will be reduced based on the part time hours.
About the role
Could you support young people with complex needs to access learning and enjoy school? Working in the Specialist Provision Centre at St Ninian’s High School, you will work with learners with moderate, severe and complex needs, including social, emotional, behavioural, physical, sensory and learning difficulties. You will help deliver personalised provision such as sensory activities, functional skills, swimming and riding for the disabled, creating a calm, positive environment where learners feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.
Working as part of the school team, you will support learning, personal care and medical needs, and help implement individual education, behaviour and support plans. You will build strong relationships with learners, encourage independence and participation, and adapt your approach across the Specialist Provision Centre, wider school and offsite activities. This role allows you to use your flexibility, patience and commitment to support learners’ development, wellbeing and inclusion every day.

An enhanced with barring police check is required for this post, the cost of which will be covered by the Isle of Man Government.
