About the role and our team

We are looking for 2 qualified and experienced Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCO) to assist with the safe, efficient and effective operation of Air Traffic Control at the Isle of Man Airport. This is unique opportunity to develop your career with a dedicated and professional team on our beautiful island in the heart of the Irish Sea.

You will act as a watchkeeping ATCO providing Air Traffic Control Services comprising Aerodrome, Approach and Approach Surveillance within Isle of Man Class D airspace as well as services to aircraft in surrounding Class G airspace.

As part of this role you will work a shift pattern including early mornings, late evenings, weekend and bank holidays as well as overnight on-call duties in accordance with published rosters.

Eligibility

To qualify for this role, applicants must, at the time of the application:

  • Hold a valid Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) Licence issued by the UK CAA.
  • Hold a licence rating in ADI.
  • An APS and APP rating would be an advantage (see below).
  • Hold a valid Class 3 medical certificate.
  • Hold a full, valid driving licence.

For applicants applying without an APS and/or APP rating, successful completion of a Rating course(s) at an ITO will be expected within a reasonable timeframe and will be funded by the Department subject to a minimum return of service. Candidates without an APS rating should have representative Tower-only experience at a busy regional or national airport.
