About the role and our team

Join our Dietetic Team as an Advanced Specialist Dietitian in Mental Health!

In this role you will provide dietetic care to patients with a range of mental health problems, including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, drug and/or alcohol problems and dementia.

You’ll join our relatively small team consisting of Dietitians, Nutrition Nurses and Administration staff.

Working across the Mental Health Services allows for plenty of variety over a typical week. Every week consists of two scheduled clinics, with additional spaces allocated throughout the week for individuals requiring more regular dietetic input in the community. You will work alongside a dietitian covering the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and provide dietetic support to those in the acute inpatient facility, including both adults and older persons.

You will work as part of a Multi-disciplinary team with other mental health professionals, including joint formulation of patient-centred care plans and review meetings. A typical week may also include receiving and providing clinical supervision to colleagues, and nutrition education and training for other health care professionals.

If you have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work confidently within a multi-professional team, we’d love to hear from you!

What can this role offer me?

  • You’ll have regular clinical supervision with a specialist dietitian working in mental health in the UK, and a psychologist colleague.
  • Your learning and development needs will be supported financially and clinically, and you’ll have the opportunity to attend courses/webinars/shadowing as identified within supervision discussions.
  • If working flexibly is important to you, you’ll be happy to know we operate a flexi-time system making it easier to reclaim any additional hours worked and to fit your other commitments around your work life.
