Senior Biomedical Scientist - Histopathology & Dissection

About the role and our team

The Histopathology Laboratory is a small and busy department providing Histology and Cytopathology services to the Island’s hospitals and community medicine.

You’ll get lots of variety in the team by rotating your work on specimen cut up, microtomy, immunocytochemistry, cytology and histology staining benches.

As Senior BMS, you will co-ordinate the day to day running of specimen dissection and training as directed by the Chief BMS.

You will help contribute to the clinical objectives of efficient and effective patient care as training lead in Histology within Pathology, delivering scientific, technical and clinical advice.

This includes encouragement of pursuing IBMS based professional qualifications and we are currently working on our UKAS accreditation so more courses may become available in the future.
