Job Advert
We are seeking a knowledgeable, driven and forward-thinking Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our dedicated and supportive team in the Pathology Department at Noble’s Hospital on the beautiful Isle of Man!
If you would like to achieve a fantastic work-life balance with a professionally satisfying job, then this could be the perfect role for you!
About the role and our team
The Histopathology Laboratory is a small and busy department providing Histology and Cytopathology services to the Island’s hospitals and community medicine.
You’ll get lots of variety in the team by rotating your work on specimen cut up, microtomy, immunocytochemistry, cytology and histology staining benches.
As Senior BMS, you will co-ordinate the day to day running of specimen dissection and training as directed by the Chief BMS.
You will help contribute to the clinical objectives of efficient and effective patient care as training lead in Histology within Pathology, delivering scientific, technical and clinical advice.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career. The Pathology Department is committed to staff development and will fully support your CPD and future progression. This includes encouragement of pursuing IBMS based professional qualifications and we are currently working on our UKAS accreditation so more courses may become available in the future.
Please read the testimonial attached below to hear from our Quality Lead in Cellular Pathology to find out more.

- Developing our team to be the best they can be is important to us and we actively support your own personal career goals, aspirations and development
- We offer competitive salaries which tend to be higher than UK salaries with opportunities for annual pay increases for many roles.
- You will have the chance to participate in the voluntary multidisciplinary on-call rota for additional pay (following suitable training and assessment).
- You will enjoy generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and 10 public holidays
- For candidates not on the Isle of Man we will reimburse your interview expenses and offer you a relocation package of up to £7,000 to get you, your things and your family to the island. You will also be eligible for housing assistance to help contribute towards your mortgage or rent on the island
