About the role and our team

Would you like a meaningful role where you can really make a difference to people’s lives?​​​​​​​

The Ambulance Service is split into 4 teams each with an allocated Senior Paramedic Officer or Team Leader. Working for a small integrated team, you’ll work on the front line Ambulance providing a vital service and assisting Emergency Medical Technician colleagues and Paramedics in a progressive service.

A typical shift includes attending to approximately 30 calls across the service.

Your day will begin with a vehicle and equipment safety check and you will typically be teamed up with an experienced Paramedic. Being an island ambulance service, we must be resilient in our approach; your day could start with a hospital discharge or responding to a collapsed patient in cardiac arrest. You must be able to adapt and to allow our service to deliver the best care possible to our patients, we’re looking for individuals who are adaptable and who can be responsive to change.

You’ll work 12 hour shifts on a rotational basis, will include relief working, weekends, bank holidays and nights.

A full valid driving licence with Category C1 is required for this role. You must also be blue light driving certified. A uniform will also be provided.
