About the role and our team

We are seeking a caring and committed team leader to deliver excellent fostering services to the children of the Isle of Man.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our small and busy team where you will work closely with Social Work colleagues to implement new policies and procedures continuing the development of good practice.

You will be responsible for managing 6 supervising social workers, quality assuring fostering reviews, mainstream and connected person(s) assessments and ensuring good practice across the service while maintaining the day to day functioning of the team.

The service is developing our first Mockingbird Pilot Constellation. This is an innovative programme that nurtures the relationships between children, young people and foster families. It identifies between 6 and 10 families in a local area and brings these together in what’s called a ‘constellation’. The Fostering Network work alongside us to ensure that the Mockingbird principles are imbedded and we are pure to the model.

The Fostering Service use The Fostering Networks Mainstream Assessment template and have developed a trauma informed training and assessment programme for prospective foster carers and adopters.

If you are a motivated team leader with a passion for achieving positive outcomes for children, this could be the role for you!

What can this role offer me?

We value development and training and you’ll be able to develop your skills and experience within a supportive and encouraging environment.

If working flexibly is important to you, you’ll be happy to know we operate a flexi-time system making it easier to reclaim any additional hours worked and to fit around your other commitments around your work life.
