Are you someone with social work senior management experience looking to take the next step in your career?
Join our team as Assistant Director – Children and Families Social Work in Manx Care.
If you’re an individual with a real drive to provide outstanding professional leadership and governance for social work services, this could be the perfect role for you.
About the role and our team
Manx Care is a new public sector organisation responsible for delivering health and social care services across the Isle of Man. Its’ creation marks a once-in-a-generation shift in the way these services are provided to the Island’s population.
We have big plans for transformation of services in Manx Care, in line with our ambitions of developing a worldwide exemplar of integrated health and social care services. We want to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes for our communities, and you will be right at the centre of delivery to continue with the integration of services on the island.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can help us deliver on our ambitions through driving a programme of improvement for social work practice, alongside fulfilling our legislative requirements, and leading a strong social care professional workforce for Manx Care.
You will report to the Executive Director of social care with accountability for providing professional social work advice and support to the Manx Care Board and Executive Team. You’ll be a key member of the Leadership team and will work across and with services with a focus on professional practice and standards.
What can this role offer me?
By joining our team at the start of Manx Care’s journey, you can be part of a whole system approach to ensuring quality health and social care provisions are delivered on the island. You’ll have the opportunity to influence, shape and develop professional social work practice across our services and have an impact on legislation more easily than many other jurisdictions.
One of our three priorities is culture. We are looking for someone who values the same things we do, and who is committed to supporting the development of a culture that is mutually supportive, shows kindness and compassion and fully supports a learning culture, where psychological safety is essential.
Another of our priorities is to develop a workforce plan that will offer you a fantastic range of development opportunities. You’ll also have access to the wide range of courses available at our Learning and Development Centre.
You’ll also be provided with a Surface Pro and free parking is available.
Manx Care is committed to creating smoke-free spaces and is ‘proud to be smoke free’ as part of the overall Isle of Man Smoke Free 2030 ambition. As of April 1st 2021 smoking is no longer permitted on our Manx Care sites. For support and advice on abstinence from smoking, please contact Quit4You on 642404 or Quit4You@gov.im
