About the role and our team

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Social Work Team Manager with a variety of knowledge and experience to join our Initial Response Team on the Isle of Man. In this role, our Social Workers often look after cases for investigation, assessment and short term planning, so the ability to provide efficient and effective management, supervision and support to a small team is key.

You will be joining a service that is currently in the process of a transformation where your experience and ideas will be key in developing the support and intervention we provide to children and young people giving you the opportunity to make a positive impact to the service users on the Island.

The main focus of our team is to provide the best outcomes for young people and their families.

You will have an active role in this by:

  • Providing direct management, supervision and professional support to all staff directly reporting to the post;
  • Ensuring effective and efficient distribution of work in line with agreed policy and practice;
  • Supporting the extended management team in providing leadership and driving service delivery and improvement; 
  • Being accountable for performance management of the team based on regular scrutiny of available data;
  • Ensuring work undertaken by staff meets policy and best practice guidelines, striving to meet high professional standards;
