About the role and our team
Would you like the chance to work in a team that is committed to making a difference?
This exciting role puts you in the driving seat to help lead the Climate Change Transformation Team.
Day to day, you will map out, prioritise and actively manage our key stakeholder engagement focussing on residents and businesses. You’ll also work on behaviour change campaigns to help normalise actions that contribute to net zero, and help to deliver and manage the new Climate Change website.
Climate change is acknowledged as one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and the response to this challenge will be one of the most strategically significant projects for the future of our Island.
In May 2019 the Chief Minister recognised that there is a global climate emergency and the need for urgent climate action in the Isle of Man. This declaration was quickly followed by The Council of Ministers Action Plan for Achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050, being developed and then approved unanimously by Tynwald in January of this year.
You’ll join our small, dedicated team within the Cabinet Office. Our work is fast-paced and pressurised so you should have outstanding resilience and flexibility.
What can this role offer me?
If this is something you feel passionate about, then it’s a chance to make a real difference to lower greenhouse emissions so that the Island achieves net zero by 2050.
We will consider and support any personal development opportunities that you would like to undertake that relate to this role. You will also have access to our in-house learning and development centre to complete training courses and qualifications.
If working flexibly is important to you, you’ll be happy to know we operate a flexi-time system making it easier to reclaim any additional hours worked and to fit your other commitments around your work life.
