Economic Assistant - Economic Affairs

Economic Affairs, Cabinet Office is looking for someone who will be responsible for the production and publication of a large number of statistics which Government and the wider Island rely upon. The post will also involve responsibility for producing estimates on how the Island's economy is performing, average earnings and also the opportunity to be involved in some large scale projects such as the Household Income and Expenditure Survey which will help determine the Island's future finances.

Environment Protection Officer - Waste Regulations

Together with the Environmental Protection Unit Manager the post holder will provide a waste regulation service for the Isle of Man Government to protect human health and the environment.

Current priorities include tackling illegal management of controlled waste, working with the Department of Infrastructure and other stakeholders to assist in the development a new Waste Policy & Strategy for the Island and bringing Manx waste legislation more in alignment with the UK protocols.

The Isle of Man has recently been awarded UNESCO Biosphere status raising the profile of environmental protection so this is an exciting opportunity to join a small team with a very varied and interesting role where you can make a real difference in the protection of this special Island.
