We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Leisure Letting Assistant to join our fantastic Estates team working between Chorlton High School and CHS South.
We’re looking for:
A Leisure Lettings Assistant to focus on supporting the use of leisure and sports facilities by various groups and individuals at our Chorlton High School and CHS South sites. You will be the first point of contact for hirers and users, welcoming them, addressing any inquiries, and ensuring safety.
We require reliable and committed individuals, within the local area, who are able to work evening and weekends and be flexible around booking demands. You will ideally have previous experience in a customer facing role and great attention to detail. You will be required to carry out some heavy lifting e.g. moving of equipment and deliveries, setting up equipment for sporting events etc.
Due to the nature of the work, we can consider flexibility with hours and all year round or term time only arrangements. We are happy to consider appointing people on a job share basis to cover shift demands.
This is a Grade 3 position paying £13.80ph equivalent to £25,185 per annum FTE all year round.
Available shifts across both sites outlined below:
Monday – Friday evenings 4pm -10pm
Saturday & Sunday 8.30am-4pm
This is a guide only, shifts may vary depending on demand, additional shifts may be available where cover is available.
Main purpose of the job:
In this customer facing role as Lettings Assistant you will act as a point of contact for all hirers/users, in case they have any queries or issues. You will work closely with our estates team and school staff to ensure facilities are properly set up, cleaned, and maintained, and that hirers have a positive experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting hirers with the setting up of facilities for lettings & other school related events, from setting up a netball courts to switching on the floodlights.
- As key holder there will be lone working, you will be responsible for unlocking the gates and doors, making sure they are locked up securely again at the end of the shift.
- Completing all health and safety checks throughout the shift and reporting any hazards or faulty equipment to ensures the high standards of the school, its grounds and environment are maintained and that everyone on site is kept safe.
- Actively maintaining the security of the school facilities by ensuring that all entrances and exits remain secure and that access to the facilities is only given to current hirers and members of their groups.
- Undertake light cleaning duties to maintain the physical appearance of the designated sites (inside and out), including maintenance of specialist facilities and equipment following appropriate training, where applicable
- Administrative duties handling paperwork, managing schedules, and maintaining accurate records.
- To act as a first aider.
- Take appropriate responsibility and action for safeguarding, be aware of confidential issues and maintain as appropriate.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

CHS South
CHS South is a 11-16 eight-form entry, mixed, comprehensive school opened in conjunction with Chorlton High School in 2018. Our school provides a full capacity of 1200 in our brand-new building which opened in September 2021.
