The Learning Directorate is managed by the Director of Learning and is accountable to the College’s Trustee Board through the Vice President for Learning. The Clinical Director of Examinations provides the College’s strategic direction on all examination matters and published works. The Clinical Director of Training and Assessment provides the College’s strategic direction on all postgraduate training and assessment matters. The Clinical Director of Digital Pathology Education provides leadership and programme management for the development of the Pathology Portal. The Clinical Director of International Activities provides the College’s strategic direction on all international matters.

Teams within the Learning Directorate include Training, Assessment, Examinations and International.

Professional Practice

The Professional Practice Directorate is managed by the Director of Professional Practice, supported by the Head of Professional Practice, and is accountable to the Colleges Trustee Board through the Vice President for Professional Practice and the Assistant Registrar. The Clinical Director of Quality and Safety works with the Professional Guidelines team and the wider directorate.

Teams within the Professional Practice Directorate include Professional Guidelines, Member Engagement and Support and Workforce and Engagement.

Communications

The Communications Directorate is managed by the Director of Communications and is accountable to the Colleges Trustee Board through the Vice President for Communications. As Bulletin Editor, the Clinical Director of Publishing and Engagement takes an overview of and shapes the Bulletin content and theme, commissioning articles and liaising with contributors. They also provide clinical advice to our public engagement programme.

Teams within the Communications Directorate include Media, Public Affairs and Policy, Publishing and Digital and Corporate and Public Engagement.

Membership & Finance

The Membership & Finance Directorate is managed by the Chief Executive and accountable to the Colleges Board of Trustees through the Treasurer.

Staff in this directorate work directly with the Chief Executive and Treasurer to cover the following areas:

  • membership records and administration

  • certificates of membership for all classes

  • all financial matters, including monthly and annual accounting

  • budgeting and forecasting

  • cash flow and treasury management

  • reconciliation of all accounting books and records

  • management of the College’s investment portfolio

  • maintaining a system of internal financial control and standing orders

  • subscriptions and other income processing

  • payment of supplier invoices and expense claims

  • financial management of the College-owned Events@No6 conference business and RCPath Consulting

  • administration relating to the College staff pension schemes.

Corporate Services

The Corporate Services Directorate is managed by the Director of Corporate Services and accountable to the Colleges Trustee Board through the Chief Executive. This area of the College’s work covers the operational support required to enable the College to function.

Additional support and direction is provided for cross-College strategy and planning activity in concert with the Chief Executive and Trustee Board. Such support includes monitoring cross-College business efficiency, corporate reporting and developing general College policies.

The management of the commercial venue through Events @ No 6 is overseen by the Director of Corporate Services and operationally by the Head of Facilities.

Management of the College’s data protection policies is undertaken by the Director of Corporate Services, who acts as Data Controller.

Staff manage and administer a range of work programmes and projects, within the following Teams.
