Do you feel passionate about ensuring people who require support are involved in their service to live full and fulfilling lives directed by their own choices and preferences?
Do you have experience working in a supervisory or management role in social care?
Do you have what it takes to ensure a staff team are providing this consistently despite the challenges and complexities the people they support may face?
If so, this could be the perfect role for you!
Following on from a review of the structure of our services in Tullideph, Dundee we are currently looking to recruit a Locality Manager to join our support services working alongside the existing management team to continue to develop this unique and dynamic service.
At Sense Scotland, what’s important is that all our staff have a genuine passion to make a difference in the lives of the people we support. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable, adaptable, have a strong work ethic and have a genuine passion for the work we deliver.
You will require the relevant qualifications and experience of working within a care service to be a confident leader who is able to support our staff team to excel in their roles and deliver the best possible care within our services.
You should be comfortable and confident in your management skills and abilities to solve problems creatively, support challenges, have open and positive relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team and take responsibility for the day to day running of the service.
You will need good time management and organisational skills; be able to work flexibly and be motivated. A flexible approach to your working hours will be required along with additional paid regional on call responsibilities.
You will ensure that person-centred support is provided and that the correct systems are in place and audited regularly, to support the staff teams to deliver the highest level of care.
You will have direct management responsibility for supervisors and will be responsible for weekly and monthly administrative and financial tasks including rota and budget management, supported by the Registered Manager.
Say hello to the team
We support’s eight adults within their own individual tenancies based in Dundee. The service is a dedicated build, with five of the people supported living within a secure courtyard space where the staff office is also located. Three individuals live a very short distance from there.
Each individual has their own complex needs including, but not limited to, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, hearing impairment, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy, Heller’s Syndrome and Asperger's. Given the complexity of need, each person's support must be bespoke and can, at times, be challenging to provide. The service is supported by a Registered Manager, a Locality Manager and two supervisors on site, and a staff team of approximately fifty. The staff support people on either a 1:1 or 2:1 basis; working closely with families and guardians to offer planned and meaningful support that encourages choice and creates new opportunities.
