At SIG we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Recruitment Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect personal data during the recruitment process in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We use the personal information you submit through the SIG Recruitment Portal to:

• Assess your suitability for employment at SIG.

• Manage, administer and support all stages of the recruitment process.

• Contact you regarding your application or related recruitment matters.

• Respond to your enquiries and requests.

• Transfer your information to our internal HR systems if you become an employee (this policy does not form part of any employment contract; further information will be provided if you are offered employment).

• Contact you about future vacancies if you have opted in. You may update your job alert preferences at any time.

1.2 Lawful Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on:

• Legitimate Interests.

• Contractual Necessity.

• Legal Obligation.

• Consent (only where explicitly requested and can be withdrawn at any time).

    2. Controlling Your Personal Information
    You may update or correct your personal details in your candidate account at any time. You have the right to request access to your data under the UK GDPR. For any requests or queries, contact dataprotection@sigplc.co.uk
     
    3. Retention of your Personal Information

    • If your account is inactive for 6 months, you will be asked if you want to remain on the system. If no response is received, your data will be deleted 6 months after inactivity.

    • If you have an active application, your data will be deleted 6 months after inactivity.

    • You may request deletion at any time by emailing dataprotection@sigplc.co.uk with your name and candidate ID.

    4. Complaints
    If you believe we have breached data protection law, contact dataprotection@sigplc.co.uk. You may also raise a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
     
    5. Disclosure
    We treat all information confidentially. Disclosure only occurs with your express permission or where legally required.
