Holiday
The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December each year. Dependent upon role, employees are entitled to the following annual leave:
Holiday 1 -
Employees with less than 2 years of service are entitled to: 28 working days paid at basic daily rate (20 annual leave + 8 public holidays)
After 2 years of service this is enhanced to: 33 working days paid at basic daily rate (25 annual leave + 8 public holidays)
Holiday 2 -
Employees with less than 2 years of service are entitled to: 33 working days paid at basic daily rate (25 annual leave + 8 public holidays)
After 2 years of service this is enhanced to: 34 working days paid at basic daily rate (26 annual leave + 8 public holidays)
For employees based in our Scottish Regions, public holidays are calculated on a "Fixed" and "Floating" basis.
Holiday, Buy and Sell
Permanent employees can apply to buy up to a maximum of 1 working week (5 days for a full-time employee) and sell up to 3 days from the next holiday year. All requests to buy and sell holidays require line manager approval.
Any holidays, up to a maximum of 1 working week, that have not been used in the previous holiday year will automatically carry over to the next annual leave year
Sickness
After 12 months continuous service employees are entitled to receive enhanced company sick pay. Enhanced Sick Pay provisions vary, dependent upon role and length of service.
Pension
Certas Energy operates one main pension scheme, but offers two separate ways of contribution, designed to suit an employees personal circumstances. All employees are invited to join a Net Deduction contributory pension scheme; with contribution rates being set at 5% employee contributions and 5% employer contributions.
All employees, subject to Current Salary Sacrifice and Real Living Wage requirements, can join the Salary Sacrifice Scheme, with standard contribution rates of 6% employee and 5% employer.
In line with current legislation, all employees employees with 3 months continuous service will be automatically enrolled into the Net Deduction scheme at standard contribution rates and are eligible to opt for the Salary Sacrifice Scheme contributions.
Life Assurance
Certas Energy operates a "non-cost" Life Assurance policy for all employees up to the age of 70 years old which provides for a lump sum payment in the event of death in service.
Subject to trust deed the provision is as follows; 16 to 64 Years 4x Base salary & 64 to 70 Years 2x Base salary.
Employee Assistance Programme
A confidential support service for employees and their immediate family members. The service provision includes; family issues, gambling issues, domestic abuse, debt matters, childcare matters, medical information, financial issues, insurance claims, legal matters, work matters, lifestyle addictions, relationship issues, consumer issues, stress and housing matters, etc
Back in Action (Physio Therapy Care)
On site and network physio therapy clincs (funded by the Company) to help treat muscular skeltal (muscle and bones) disorders.
Ride2Work
The is a Certas salary sacrifice scheme operated in line with HMRC rules and provides discounts against the purchase of cycles and cycle equipment.
Long Service Awards
In partnership with Cotrills, the Company recognises 25, 35 and 45 Years of Continuous Service by awarding points which can be spent on high quality brands and goods.
