The Role

We’re recruiting for a Business Case Lead here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Strategic Initiatives team.

The Business Case Lead will be responsible for developing and overseeing the creation of robust and compelling business cases that justify investment in various projects. This role requires an individual with strong financial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of the 5 Case Model and Treasury Green Book guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing comprehensive business cases that meet the Treasury Green Book standards and 5 Case Model requirements.
  • Identifying and gathering necessary evidence and supporting information to build strong, evidence-based arguments within business cases.
  • Collaborating with finance, procurement, and project teams to ensure the financial and commercial robustness of business cases.
  • Leading the planning, development, and drafting of business cases, ensuring they are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to project leaders on the process, procedures, and content of business cases.
  • Challenging input from various experts to ensure credible and constructive information is included.
  • Ensuring business cases are clear, concise, and written with the intended audience in mind, avoiding unnecessary technical jargon.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to anticipate and mitigate potential issues and delays.
  • Supporting project leaders in stakeholder engagements and presentations of business case arguments.
  • Ensuring all business cases are aligned with MoJ, Cabinet Office and Treasury guidelines, and demonstrate value for money.

Essential

  • Extensive experience in developing business cases, particularly within the context of the Treasury Green Book and 5 Case Model.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to perform sensitivity analyses on project inputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Confidence in challenging expert input and providing constructive feedback.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Proven experience in large operational and / or project environments.
  • Proven experience in developing strong relationships in complex stakeholder networks.
  • Proven experience in proactively managing delivery of outcomes and mitigating challenges
  • Proven experience in business change processes and governance.
  • Is a detail-oriented individual who can work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to be proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality business cases that support the strategic objectives of the organization.

Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for SC vetting.

Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a 1-hour panel interview held via video conference. You will also be required to prepare and deliver a presentation on a specific topic which will be communicated in advance of the scheduled interview.
