The Role

We’re recruiting for a Lead Network Architect here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Technology Services team.


This role aligns against Network Architect from the Government Digital and Data Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with a wide range of senior stakeholders and take charge of shaping the vision, principles, and strategy for security.
  • Advise on and shape significant business and architectural decisions.
  • Conduct research, identify, validate, and embrace new technologies and methodologies.
  • Determine where gaps exist in current architectures, people and processes and be proactive in bridging those gaps.
  • Steer new solutions to a successful outcome where multiple 3rd parties or technical stake holders are involved.  
  • Be responsible for documenting design, installation, and configuration of network infrastructure to best practice.
  • Help drive the Roadmap for new solutions, services, or products.
  • Manage internal resources and 3rd parties and their deliverables to ensure timely and quality delivery of solutions.

Person Specification


Essential

  • In depth understanding of varying technologies, platforms and operational models in the network arena.
  • In depth understanding of various WAN technologies including MPLS, DIA, 4/5G.
  • In depth understanding of IP Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • In depth understanding of overlay technologies such as DMVPN and SD-WAN.
  • In depth understanding of SASE technology and architecture.
  • In depth understanding of LAN architecture.
  • In depth understanding of Network Security concepts and technologies (VPN, NAC, Identity and Access Management).
  • Extensive experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • A good understanding of network management tooling.
  • Excellent customer facing skills including senior stakeholder management. 
  • Previous Government experience.
  • In depth knowledge of the Public Services Network (PSN) Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector Standards and practices (NCSC, Official Security Levels etc.).


Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for SC clearance.
