We’re recruiting for a Senior Service Architect here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Technology Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

Working as part of a team, the role holder is responsible for the production of Enterprise level Service & Process Packages, including Service Designs, supporting process and procedures, system data, templates, work instructions, plans, RAID, knowledge articles and training material.


  • Produce Formal Service Requirement Assessments (SRAs) to ensure that proposed service solutions arising from any new/changed service requirements are aligned to the overall Technology Services service architecture and end-to-end service model. 
  • Ensure that the service design deliverables (e.g. Service Design Packs, Operational Working Agreements, Operational Level Agreements) are consistent with and aligned to the wider Technology Services service architecture and end-to-end service model.  
  • Own and develop templates and standards for all team output within the Service Ecosystem Producing service designs which ensure that support for the new service is comprehensive, efficient and reuses existing capability. 
  • Own and deliver end to end packages with the view of ‘what do we need to operate’; this will involve engagement at the conception of a project through to testing and supporting Operational Acceptance/Live Service Criteria.
  • Developing and documenting the proposed service design for the integration and implementation of solutions, working with and across other areas of the business to ensure that the requirements are included in business cases, project plans, supplier procurements and Service Design Packages.
  • Exercising strong stakeholder management skills to drive completion of a service design, including brokering decisions and bridging technical and business disputes by weighing up risk, complexity impact and deliverability. 
  • Ensure Service management solutions being proposed for the programme are fit for purpose, meeting related business and regulatory requirements.
  • Define appropriate monitoring and reporting required for the various services being defined and managed by IT. 
  • Ensure the plans for the delivery of Service management is fit for purpose. 
  • Provide challenge into the design and delivery process in regard to detailed Design and solution. 
  • Act as overall Service management authority.
  • Attend the Technical Design authority and follow the governance associated with it.

Person Specification


Essential

  • A strong operational understanding of service supply chains.
  • Experience of developing service-based process and procedures in a commercial environment.
  • An understanding of how technology, process, tools and people combine together to provide effective solutions.
  • Development of complex IT services including customer liaison management. Good knowledge of ITIL v3 and v4 showing knowledge of ITIL alignment with DevOps and Agile principles and practices.
  • Experience of developing SLAs and operational procedures in a commercial environment. Good strategic planning and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in Service Architecture, and Service Design for major IT systems and services.
  • Works in a fast-paced, evolving environment and uses an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery, with an agile mindset to all aspects of work. 
  • The ability to write coherent, concise, and readable technical documentation.


Desirable

  • Knowledge of financial management, cost centre control and project planning and delivery. 
  • Knowledge of ISO 20000-1.


Willingness to be assessed against  the requirements for SC clearance.
