The Role

We’re recruiting for a Senior Technical Architect – Application Platforms here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative End User Compute Services team.


This role aligns against Senior Technical Architect from the Government Digital and Data Framework.



The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in Microsoft low code and no code platforms including Power Platform, Power Automate, Power BI and Copilot Studio and promoting their use across the Department. The role will support the architectural oversight, technical expertise and ensure proper use of these platforms with relevant business data. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge and work with the Application Platforms product team on the strategic vision for the different technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical and Solution Architecture

  • Lead the design and implementation of platform services around the technologies in the Applications Platform space including Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Copilot Studio
  • Define architectural standards, guidelines and best practices for MoJ product teams developing and deploying solutions to platforms.

Technical Expertise

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the technology products supported by Application Platforms, notably Microsoft’s low-code and no-code services.
  • Stay up to date on the latest features, capabilities and best practices of these platforms and evangelise their use across the Department.

Governance and Compliance

  • Develop and implement governance frameworks alongside the Application Platforms product team to ensure that the platforms are appropriately configured to support MoJ business data.
  • Establish and refine data governance policies, access controls and compliance measures to protect sensitive information.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, digital product teams and third-party vendors to understand requirements, support their development of solutions on supported platforms.
  • Engage with wider technical and enterprise architecture teams in the department to ensure compatibility and integration with existing systems and platforms.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement in the use of Microsoft low-code and no-code systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and enhancements.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools that complement or enhance the capabilities of the Applications Platforms product teams.

Person Specification


Essential


  • Technical Expertise - Extensive experience in architecting solutions on Microsoft low-code and no-code solutions such as Power Platform, Power BI, Power Automate and Copilot Studio.
  • Promotion and Adoption - Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Governance and Compliance – Knowledge of data governance principals, access controls and compliance requirements related to business data in a highly regulated environment. Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks for application platforms.
  • Vendor Management and Partnerships – Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision making. 
  • Proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams and driving consensus on technical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and activity management skills



Willingness to be assessed against  the requirements for SC clearance.
