The Role

We’re recruiting for Senior Infrastructure Engineers here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative End User Compute Services (EUCS) team within Technology Services.  


The EUCS Team design, deliver and support the core infrastructure and systems that enable End User Compute Services and line of business applications for over 100,000 Ministry of Justice users across over 800 locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supporting and developing a team of Engineers, promoting a culture of best practices and striving to achieve team goals.
  • Contribute to the design, building, and operation of modern and user-centric End User Computing (EUC) solutions and services that enable the Ministry of Justice to deliver services across the UK.
  • Collaborate with key suppliers to assist in managing EUC infrastructure in various environments, such as cloud, data centres, and organisational sites.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the latest standards and practices relevant to the role, sharing acquired knowledge and insights with the team and the MoJs Digital community.
  • Assist in implementing best practices throughout the development life cycle, focusing on designated product areas.
  • Support engineering teams in the implementation of scripting tools or automation solutions to streamline manual processes and improve efficiency.
  • Own problems, proactively initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns,  trends and to resolve any blockages.
  • Foster effective collaboration with other areas of EUCS and Justice Digital, contributing to shared goals and the delivery of integrated solutions.


The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will work collaboratively with:


  • Lead Engineers
  • Technical Architecture and Service Operations teams
  • 3rd party Service Managers, Project and Technical leads
  • Senior Operations Managers within the EUC team
  • Key MOJ stakeholders

Person Specification


**We are recruiting a number of Senior Infrastructure Engineers that are responsible for various aspects of EUCS. If you are interested in joining us you must have experience in one or more of the following capabilities. In your application, please clearly indicate your area of expertise**


  • Device and Application Management, including AutoPilot Enrolment, AzureAD Group Configuration, Microsoft MMD Operational Management, Defender for Endpoints and Application packaging.
  • Identity Management with experience of Active Directory, AzureAD, Single-Sign on, Multi-Factor Authentication, Windows Hello for Business and Public Key Infrastructure. 
  • M365 Management of Teams, Email, Email Archiving and Exchange administration.
  • Azure Services: Knowledge of various Azure services and their integration with Azure DevOps, including Azure Compute, Storage, Logic Apps and Azure AD.
  • Azure Universal Print Management, Administration of large scale cloud based printing solutions.
  • Scripting and Automation, including PowerShell, Azure CLI with an “as Code“ mindset and knowledge such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates
  • File and data management, including knowledge of SharePoint Online, OneDrive administration and support functions via admin portals, scripting and related tools such as ShareGate, SPMT or other migration capabilities and/or expert knowledge of NetApp administration.
  • Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows Virtual Desktop Configuration.
  • On-premises Infrastructure and Management, Data, Storage, Virtual Machines and backup.
  • Google Enterprise Suite, including Google Docs, Email, File Store and Archiving.
  • Power Platform, setup, configuration and support.


Essential


  • Strong Technical knowledge of at least one of the capabilities, detailed above**
  • Confident in the area of technical specialism and be fully conversant with other complementary technologies.
  • Experience in working within technical teams, playing a key role, acting as Subject Matter Expert and sharing best practice.
  • The ability to contribute to the development of the engineering team and promote continuous learning and development.
  • Excellent collaboration and partnership skills, with a proven ability to work as part of a wider technical team.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience.
